Lands on injured list Bieber was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain Monday.

Impact Manager Terry Francona said that Bieber will be shut down from throwing for two weeks and re-evaluated after his rest. As a result, the right-hander will miss more than the minimum of 10 days, and a better timetable for his return could be established once he's able to resume throwing. Kyle Nelson was recalled from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move, but Cleveland hasn't yet announced who will take Bieber's place in the starting rotation.

Impact Bieber struck out eight, but he wasn't entirely effective on the mound and gave up season-worst marks in both hits and runs. The right-hander ended a streak of three straight wins, though he still owns a strong 3.28 ERA. He's lined up to make his next start on the road against the Pirates at some point next week.

Solid in win Tuesday Bieber (7-3) allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out five across six innings in the win over the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Impact Bieber's only run allowed came in the fourth inning on an Edmundo Sosa single. He walked two batters and hit another in the same inning. Although earning the win, he struck out a season-low five batters. It was the first time he struck out less hitters than innings pitched. The 26-year-old has a 2.96 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP with a strong 12.9 K/9 in 85 innings. He will look to continue his winning streak in his next start Sunday against the Mariners.
