Spitzbarth has major-league experience with Pittsburgh, but he will have some work to do in the minors before the Reds think about giving him another shot in the bigs.

Impact Spitzbarth spent nearly a month with the minor-league club, and he posted a 5.68 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 6.1 innings across six appearances since his demotion. He's recorded a 4.50 ERA across four major-league appearances this year, and he'll rejoin the Pirates' bullpen ahead of the final series of the 2021 campaign.
