Gorman has also continued to display above-average patience at the dish, as evidenced by an 11.6 percent walk rate that's his highest since his first professional stop in rookie ball back in 2018. If he continues to enjoy similar success with Springfield into the latter portion of the summer, a promotion to Triple-A Memphis at some point before the conclusion of the minor-league season certainly wouldn't be out of the question.

ImpactThe right-hander fired 25 pitches during his outing, which afforded the rest of the Cardinals bullpen some rest in the latter portion of the lopsided loss. Fernandez is likely to continue mainly drawing multi-inning assignments while up with the big-league club.
