Corey Dickerson - Doubles in three-hit effortDickerson went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Rockies.
ImpactDickerson had an RBI single in the fourth inning to tie the game at 2-2. The 33-year-old has taken on a reserve role in August, starting just four of nine contests. He's gone 10-for-27 (.370) with a home run and five RBI across 10 games since the All-Star break, but it'll likely remain tough for the veteran to draw into the lineup regularly. He owns a .233/.278/.363 slash line with four homers, 20 RBI, 17 runs scored and seven doubles through 158 plate appearances this year.

Nolan Gorman - Homers in Thursday's lossGorman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Rockies.
ImpactGorman went yard in the fourth inning to get the Cardinals on the board. This was his first multi-hit game since July 30, and he's gone a mediocre 5-for-22 (.227) in August. The slump has cost him an everyday role, as the lefty-hitting infielder often exits the lineup versus southpaws with the Cardinals enjoying good health. Gorman is slashing .242/.316/.464 with 13 homers, 27 RBI, 36 runs scored and a stolen base through 234 plate appearances in his rookie year.

Jordan Hicks - Takes sixth lossHicks (3-6) allowed two runs on two walks and struck out one in 1.1 innings, taking the loss Thursday against the Rockies.
ImpactHicks got through the sixth inning without trouble, but he walked two batters with one out in the seventh. Genesis Cabrera couldn't stop the Rockies' momentum in what became a six-run frame, with Hicks getting charged with the loss. The flame-throwing right-hander has seen more high-leverage work lately, picking up four holds in his last nine appearances. He owns a 4.89 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 44:31 K:BB through 46 innings across 23 outings (eight starts) this year, though he remains in more of a versatile relief role at this part of the season.

ImpactBernard has spent 10 seasons in the minor leagues but will have the chance to make his major-league debut during the team's weekend series against the Diamondbacks. The 31-year-old is hitting .325/.374/.588 across 377 plate appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque this season and has previously spent time in the Padres, Tigers, Giants and Cubs organizations.
