Andrew McCutchen - Providing value on basesMcCutchen went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a run and a stolen base in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Cardinals.
ImpactThough McCutchen has turned in nine seasons of double-digit steals during his career, none have come since 2018. That makes McCutchen's early involvement on the bases all the more surprising, as the 35-year-old has now nabbed steals in two straight games and has made three attempts overall through 10 games. McCutchen's willingness to run may be a byproduct of the Brewers' offensive struggles; Sunday's six-run effort was Milwaukee's top total through its first 10 games. Assuming the likes of Christian Yelich and Hunter Renfroe eventually begin to heat up and the Brewers are able to more easily manufacture runs, McCutchen may not be as inclined to go for steals, especially if he continues to stick as the club's cleanup hitter versus right-handed pitching.

Nolan Gorman - Leading minors in homersGorman has slugged six home runs in 10 games to open the minor-league campaign with Triple-A Memphis, putting up a .351/.415/.838 line in the process.
ImpactThat's the good news. The less-good news: Somehow, all six homers have come with nobody on base, and he's also managed to strike out 15 times in 41 plate appearances -- a 36.6 percent clip. Still just 21 years old, Gorman has time to develop, but he's increasingly looking like a one-dimensional hitter who sells out to hit the ball over the fence. That said, 30-homer power at second base (where Gorman has been moved in light of Nolan Arenado's presence above him and Jordan Walker's below him in the organization) certainly has fantasy value. Of course, Gorman's move to the right side of the infield hasn't gone all that smoothly, as he's made six errors in 23 games at second base dating back to last season.

Jordan Walker - Consecutive three-hit gamesWalker has gone 3-for-5 in each of his last two games for Double-A Springfield, raising his season line to .355/.487/.452.
ImpactWhile he has just a single homer and no other extra-base hits in the early going, Walker has already swiped a pair of bags. He's also sporting a 6:9 BB:K, which represents a modest decrease in his strikeout rate and a major increase in his walk rate relative to his High-A returns last year. We'll need to see more before calling that a sustainable trend, but in general, all signs are pointing up for the 19-year-old Walker, who has a legitimate shot at getting himself listed among MLB's top 10 prospects by the end of the season.

Hedbert Perez - Hits first homer this seasonPerez went 1-for-5 with a home run in Sunday's game with Single-A Carolina.
ImpactPerez had a tough time at the Single-A level last season, and he has not done much early this year, tallying just three hits over 29 at-bats. However, all three of those have went for extra bases, and some struggles can be expected for a player who is nearly two years younger than league average. Perez is one of the better prospects in the Brewers' system, so don't be surprised if he takes off at some point.

Micah Bello - Off to fast startBello went 14-for-28 (.500) with a home run, 10 RBI and two stolen bases over his first eight games of the season with Single-A Carolina.
ImpactBello struggled a bit when he reached the Single-A level for the first time last season, but he showed signs of improvement in September and has taken a much larger step early in the current campaign. Bello, a second-round pick in 2018, will turn 22 this summer, so he will have a chance to move up the ranks if he continues producing.
