Pedro Severino - Rehab shifts to Triple-ASeverino (suspension) had his rehab assignment transferred to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
ImpactSeverino began a rehab assignment at Double-A Biloxi last week and hit .435 with a homer, four runs, an RBI and a stolen base over six games. He's eligible to return from his suspension during the first week in July and has been getting some looks at first base during his rehab stint.

Mark Mathias - Optioned to Triple-AMathias was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
ImpactMathias provided infield depth for the Brewers over the last few weeks but saw sporadic playing time. He's hit just .125 with a homer, four RBI, two runs and a stolen base over six major-league games this year and should see more consistent at-bats in the minors. Mike Brosseau (ankle) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Mike Brosseau - Reinstated from 10-day ILBrosseau (ankle) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.
ImpactBrosseau recently appeared in five minor-league games during a rehab assignment, and he went 5-for-18 with two doubles, three runs, three walks and three strikeouts. The 28-year-old should serve in the short side of a platoon at second or third base now that he's healthy.

Packy Naughton - Back in big leaguesNaughton was recalled by the Cardinals on Friday.
ImpactNaughton has already spent four separate stints on the major-league roster. His numbers haven't necessarily justified a permanent stay, as he owns a 5.40 ERA in 13.1 innings of work, though his 1.8 percent walk rate at least demonstrates strong control. He'll replace Drew VerHagen in the bullpen, who hit the injured list with a shoulder issue Friday.

Drew VerHagen - Placed on 15-day ILVerHagen (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday.
ImpactWhile it's not yet clear how long VerHagen has been dealing with his shoulder injury, he hasn't been particularly effective recently, as he's allowed 10 runs (nine earned) on 13 hits and four walks while striking out seven in 5.2 innings over his last seven appearances. The right-hander will be forced to miss at least two weeks due to his injury, while Packy Naughton was recalled to take VerHagen's place in the bullpen.

Tyler Black - Performing well in High-ABlack has a .292/.415/.461 slash line with four homers, 11 steals on 15 attempts and a 33:35 BB:K through 49 games for High-A Wisconsin.
ImpactThere's a lot to like about the well-rounded profile Black brings to the table. While he most likely isn't a future star, he does a little bit of everything and as a hitter is reminiscent of David Fletcher, just without the defensive ability to play shortstop. The question for Black as he rises through the organization will be whether he can hit for enough power to be a starting second baseman in the big leagues. For what it's worth, the Brewers have also given him some exposure at third base and in center field, but he doesn't really have the arm to be effective at either of those spots.
