Albert Almora Jr. - Sent down WednesdayAlmora was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
ImpactAlthough Almora was recalled at the beginning of September as part of the active roster expansion, he didn't start any games and went 0-for-5 with a run and two strikeouts during sporadic appearances off the bench. The 27-year-old should see more consistent playing time in Syracuse, while Jose Peraza (finger) will serve as utility depth for the major-league club after he was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.

Noah Syndergaard - Another live BP on tapMets manager Luis Rojas said Wednesday that Syndergaard (elbow) will throw another live batting practice session in the coming days before the team determines his next step, Deesha...
ImpactWhile squaring off Wednesday against rehabbing outfielder Brandon Nimmo (hamstring), Syndergaard threw approximately 15-to-20 pitches in a live BP session, with his fastball velocity sitting in the low-to-mid-90s during the session. Rojas indicated that Syndergaard was deliberately not throwing at 100 percent velocity, so the right-hander will presumably ramp up the intensity in his next throwing session as he looks to prove that he's moved past the bout of elbow inflammation that resulted in him being shut down in late May. Assuming he experiences no further setbacks during his throwing program, Syndergaard could make it back from the 60-day injured list during the final two weeks of the season in a relief role.

Brandon Nimmo - Could return this weekendNimmo (hamstring) could be reinstated from the 10-day injured list for the team's weekend series against the Phillies, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
ImpactNimmo participated in live batting practice ahead of Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, and manager Luis Rojas was pleased with the outfielder's performance. While Rojas didn't indicate whether the 28-year-old will be available for Friday's series opener, his return is imminent following a quick recovery process.
