Impact Ridings has pitched only five big-league innings, though he fared well by posting a 7:2 K:BB and allowing only one earned run across the five frames last season. He could compete for a bullpen role out of spring training if he heals up relatively quickly, but he may otherwise be destined to start the season at the Triple-A level.

Heads back to minors Ridings was returned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

Impact Ridings had served as a replacement player in the Yankees' bullpen since early August, and he posted a 1.80 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in five innings across five appearances since he joined the major-league roster. However, he'll return to the Triple-A club since Jordan Montgomery is expected to be reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list to start Tuesday's matinee against the Red Sox.
