Ryan Thompson - Transferred to 60-day IL Thompson (right triceps inflammation) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact He was shut down for the season earlier this week, with a stress reaction in his right elbow being reported, so it sounds like the stress reaction is what was causing the triceps inflammation. Thompson will compete for a spot in the bullpen next spring if he is healthy.

Bligh Madris - Claimed by Rays Madris was claimed off waivers by the Rays on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. He will report to Triple-A Durham.
Impact The Pirates designated Madris for assignment earlier this week, but the Rays apparently see something they like. He hit .294/.366/.482 with seven home runs, four steals and a 0.46 BB/K in 71 games at Triple-A but struggled with a .177 average and one home run in 123 plate appearances in the majors.

Jonathan Aranda - Sitting Friday Aranda is not in Friday's lineup against the Rangers.
Impact Aranda's strong hit tool has translated well in the majors, but his defensive shortcomings have also been apparent. He is hitting .316/.409/.579 with one home run, five strikeouts and three walks in 19 at-bats this month. Taylor Walls is starting at second base while Christian Bethancourt starts at first base.

Impact Raley was unavailable for the Rays' series in Toronto this week due to his vaccination status, but he'll rejoin the team's bullpen ahead of Friday's series opener against the Rangers. Over 19 appearances since the All-Star break, he's picked up 10 holds while posting a 0.92 ERA and 0.86 WHIP in 19.2 innings.

Impact Paredes has become a regular in the Rays' lineup once again due to the absence of Brandon Lowe (back). He's collected at least one hit in each of his last three starts, and Thursday's performance was highlighted by a solo home run to lead off the seventh inning and an RBI single two frames later. Paredes now has 19 homers on the season while hitting .219/.302/.465 across 325 plate appearances.

Impact Diaz took Kevin Gausman yard in the second inning to start the rout for the Rays.
