Christopher Morel - Lifts homer in loss Morel went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.
Impact Morel has four multi-hit efforts over his last seven games. His homer Friday was his first in all of August, and he's batting a meager .176 (12-for-68) over 18 contests this month. Morel is still getting steady playing time since he was traded form the Cubs, but he's yet to do much with it. For the season, he has a .196/.298/.363 slash line with 21 homers, 55 RBI, 51 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 123 games.

Junior Caminero - Hits first homer of season Caminero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.
Impact Caminero was out of the lineup Thursday, and the rest appeared to work well for him. He went yard in the first inning for his first homer over 10 games in the majors this year, and he scored again after getting aboard on a double in the third. This was Caminero's third multi-hit effort since his Aug. 13 recall, and he's batting .265 with two extra-base hits, two RBI and two stolen bases over 39 plate appearances.

Tyler Alexander - Fades in fifth inning Alexander allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.
Impact Alexander was steady early on, but he ran into trouble in the fifth inning. He exited the game after yielding a three-run home run to Enrique Hernandez. Alexander had served as a bulk reliever in his previous six outings over three different stints in the majors. He's now at a 5.22 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 69:20 K:BB over 81 innings across 17 appearances (seven starts) this year. The southpaw is lined up to make his next appearance at Seattle, but it hasn't been revealed if he'll start or work behind an opener if he gets another turn through the rotation.

Jeffrey Springs - Struggles against A's Springs (1-2) took the loss Thursday against Oakland, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks across 3.1 innings. He struck out three.
Impact After completing five innings in three straight starts, Springs failed to get through the fourth Thursday. While all three of his allowed runs came before the fourth frame, Springs was removed after 82 pitches following a Darell Hernaiz double. In 22 innings, Springs has a 4.50 ERA with four home runs allowed and a 24:7 K:BB. He's on track to face the Mariners early next week.

Jonathan Aranda - Comes off IL Aranda (oblique) was reinstated from Triple-A Durham's 7-day injured list Wednesday and went 1-for-4 in an 11-6 win over Syracuse.
Impact Aranda served as Durham's designated hitter in his first game in two months after completing his recovery from an oblique strain. In addition to the oblique strain, Aranda missed extended time to begin the season due to a fractured finger. The two injuries have limited him to just 45 games between Triple-A and Tampa Bay.

Ben Rortvedt - Shifted to family emergency list The Rays transferred Rortvedt from the paternity list to the family medical emergency list, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Impact Per Whitaker, Rortvedt's new baby and the baby's mother are doing fine. This is a procedural move made so that he can spend more time with his family, as his three-game stay on the paternity list was set to run out. Rortvedt is expected to rejoin the Rays at some point on their road trip, potentially as soon as this weekend versus the Dodgers. Rob Brantly will remain on Tampa Bay's roster until Rortvedt returns.
