ImpactPfaadt was hit hard in a spot start with the big-league club Thursday, surrendering six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three batters in a loss to the Rays. The 24-year-old has struggled over six major-league starts this year, compiling an inflated 9.82 ERA and 1.87 WHIP with 21 punchouts over 25.2 frames. Outfielder Dominic Fletcher was called up from Triple-A Reno on Friday and will replace Pfaadt on the Diamondbacks' roster.

Pavin Smith - Optioned to Triple-ASmith was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Friday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
ImpactSmith will head to Triple-A in the midst of a cold spell at the plate, batting .130 with two homers, eight RBI, eight runs scored and 16 strikeouts over 69 at-bats in 21 games during June. He'll head to Reno and look to get right while Kyle Lewis was called up to replace Smith on major-league roster Friday.

ImpactLewis will return to the majors for the first time since early April after posting a .400 batting average with two homers, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored over 12 games with Reno following a stint the 10-day injured list. The 28-year-old will look to keep up the success in the big leagues and he'll replace Pavin Smith on the major-league roster after Smith was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

ImpactFletcher will return to the major-league roster after being sent down in late May, batting .328 with two doubles, a triple, seven RBI, 14 runs and a stolen base over 58 at-bats in 13 games since his demotion. The 24-year-old has compiled a .308/.349/.474 slash line with eight extra-base hits, including two homers, over 78 at-bats in 22 contests with Arizona in 2023. Additionally, Fletcher will face off with his brother David Fletcher and the Angels upon his return to the big leagues Friday.
