Randy Arozarena - Remains productive SundayArozarena went 2-for-5 with an RBI single, a stolen base and two runs in a win over the Orioles on Sunday.
ImpactArozarena opened the scoring on a prolific day for offense by driving in Brandon Lowe with a first-inning single, the slugger's fourth RBI over the last three games. Arozarena is in the midst of an interesting 12-game stretch where he's managed to forge a .293 average and .370 on-base percentage despite striking out at a massive 39.1 percent clip. However, he carries a rock-solid .274/.351/.455 slash line for the campaign.

Jordan Luplow - Homers in wild winLuplow (ankle) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run in a win over the Orioles on Sunday.
ImpactJust activated from the injured list Saturday, Luplow made his second consecutive start and delivered with a second-inning solo shot off Orioles starter Spenser Watkins. The two-hit effort was Luplow's second since being promoted from Triple-A Durham on Aug. 6, with the first also having come against Baltimore that same date.

Joey Wendle - Explodes for six-RBI dayWendle went 3-for 4 with an RBI single, a solo home run, a grand slam and a walk in a win over the Orioles on Sunday.
ImpactWendle nearly single-handedly dismantled the Orioles in a memorable day at the plate, and his seventh-inning grand slam gave the Rays some breathing room after Baltimore had closed to within two runs in the home half of the sixth. Wendle's pair of homers pushed him to a new career high of nine for the season, and he's now carrying a five-game hitting streak during which he owns a .500 average and seven total RBI.

Matt Wisler - Makes rehab appearanceWisler (finger) struck out three over a perfect inning during his rehab appearance Monday at the rookie-level Florida Complex League, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports...
ImpactOn the heels of the strong rehab outing, Wisler could be ready to make his return from the 10-day injured list by the middle of the week. When healthy this season, Wisler has been a trusted late-inning option for the Rays. Since coming over in a mid-June trade from the Giants, Wisler has picked up one save and seven holds while submitting a 1.98 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 27.1 innings.

Chris Archer - Solid over four frames SundayArcher (hip) allowed two earned runs on four hits and a walk while recording six strikeouts over four innings in Sunday's win over the Orioles. He did not factor into the decision.
ImpactThe right-hander was effective overall across 59 pitches, getting 41 of them into the strike zone and notching first-pitch strikes on 10 of the 17 batters he faced. Archer also recorded an impressive 14 swinging strikes while corroborating that his previously troublesome hip was apparently back to full health. Adam Berry of MLB.com reports Archer also encouragingly displayed improved velocity as the game went on, going from 88.4 mph on the first fastball he threw to a top-end speed of 95.2 mph on a fourth-inning offering to Jahmai Jones. Archer will look to build on Sunday's effort in his next start, which lines up against the Twins on Friday night.

Josh Fleming - Demoted after poor relief outingThe Rays optioned Fleming to Triple-A Durham on Monday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ImpactFleming's demotion comes one day after he was pummeled for four runs over 1.1 innings in relief during Sunday's 12-8 win over the Orioles. Tampa Bay reinstated reliever J.P. Feyereisen (shoulder/biceps) from the 10-day injured list to join the bullpen as a replacement for Fleming, who was recently bumped out of the rotation following Chris Archer's return from the IL. Fleming is expected to get stretched back out as a starter at Triple-A, but he likely won't fill that role in Tampa Bay again this season unless injuries affect the Rays' rotation depth.
