Randy Dobnak - Lands on 60-day injured listDobnak (finger) was placed on the 60-day injured list Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
ImpactDobnak had been shut down with what the Twins referred to as discomfort in his right middle finger, but it looks as though the issue may be worse than discomfort. He missed most of last season with a strain in the same finger, and he'll now be ineligible to return before early June.

Jhon Romero - Claimed by TwinsRomero was claimed off waivers by the Twins on Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
ImpactRomero was designated for assignment by Washington last week, but he'll now compete for a spot in the Twins' bullpen ahead of the 2022 campaign. The right-hander mainly pitched at the Double-A and Triple-A levels in 2021, and he posted a 2.62 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 55 innings across 38 relief appearances. He got his first taste of major-league action by making five relief appearances for the Nationals late in the season. If Romero joins the Twins' major-league bullpen at some point in 2022, he's unlikely to have a high-leverage role.

Chi Chi González - Joins MinnesotaGonzalez signed Sunday with the Twins on a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to big-league spring training.
ImpactMinnesota will waste no time integrating Gonzalez into its Grapefruit League pitching schedule, as he's scheduled to start Monday's game against the Orioles. Though he's attending big-league camp, Gonzalez is expected to open the 2022 campaign as a member of the Triple-A St. Paul rotation. He spent the 2021 season in the Rockies organization, making 24 appearances (18 starts) with the big club and posting a 6.46 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 101.2 innings.

Jeffrey Springs - Facing hitters againSprings (knee) is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Monday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ImpactSprings has yet to make his Grapefruit League debut, but his ability to face hitters at this stage in camp seemingly hints that he has a shot at being ready for Opening Day after tearing the ACL in his right knee July 31 of last year and undergoing surgery just over two weeks later. Before getting hurt, Springs had been a key piece out of the Tampa Bay bullpen, tossing 44.2 innings over 43 appearances while submitting a 3.43 and 63:14 K:BB and picking up 10 holds, five wins and two saves. If he gets a clean bill of healthy ahead of the start of the season, Springs will likely slot in as a setup man for Tampa Bay.

Jalen Beeks - Starting Monday's gameBeeks (elbow) is listed as the Rays' starting pitcher for Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
ImpactThe Rays will likely ask Beeks to cover only one or two innings in what marks his first competitive action since undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2020. Before sustaining the season-ending injury, Beeks had made 12 appearances out of the Rays' bullpen, but the decision to have him start Monday could signal that the organization plans to have him work as a starter at Triple-A Durham to begin the 2022 campaign.
