Carlos Rodón - Starts throwing programManager Aaron Boone said Rodon (back) threw on flat ground from 60-to-75 feet Saturday and Sunday, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

ImpactThe 30-year-old recently resumed taking part in physical activities and was quickly cleared to start up a throwing program. Rodon has been unable to pitch this season due to a forearm strain and chronic back issues, the latter of which he received a cortisone injection for in early May. The left-hander still has significant building up to do before progressing to game action, which likely means his return remains more than a month away.

ImpactThe 31-year-old doubled and scored during the first inning but tweaked his groin while running the bases. Diaz will have a team off day Monday to aid in his recovery ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Mets. Isaac Paredes stepped in at first base in his place Sunday.

ImpactDiaz appeared to slip while getting to third base in the top of the first inning, and while he was able to score a run on a Brandon Lowe groundout, he was unable to continue on defense. Isaac Paredes has taken over at first base with Diaz out.
