George Springer - Homers in second straightSpringer went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk Saturday against the Rays.
ImpactSpringer crushed a first-pitch offering from Shane McClanahan to straight-away center field in the second inning to open the scoring. It was the second long ball in as many games for Springer since being moved into the cleanup spot by Toronto manager Charlie Montoyo. The 31-year-old is hitting .333 over his past eight games, providing three homers and eight walks during that stretch. He appears to finally be a full-go after an injury-riddled first two-plus months as a Blue Jay.

Santiago Espinal - Notches first big-league homerEspinal went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI on Saturday against Tampa Bay.
ImpactEspinal took reliever Matt Wisler deep in the sixth inning for his first career home run, a two-run blast that broke the game open at 6-1. He also singled in the second, Espinal's second two-hit game in the last week. The trade of veteran Joe Panik has opened the door for Espinal to receive more starts at third base, which allows the Jays to utilize Cavan Biggio in more of a super-utility role. The 26-year-old Espinal provides a steady glove but has also put together a surprising .304/.355/.402 slash line in 110 plate appearances this season. His lack of power and speed (two steals in three attempts), however, limit his offensive appeal.

Shane McClanahan - Falls to Blue JaysMcClanahan (3-3) took the loss against Toronto on Saturday, giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks in 5.1 innings while striking out five.
ImpactThe only run McClanahan allowed while actually in the game was a solo home run by George Springer in the second inning. He departed in the sixth with a pair of runners on base, both of which came around to score after reliever Matt Wisler entered the game. The 24-year-old McClanahan has shown well as a rookie, logging a 66:18 K:BB in 56 innings overall while limiting opponents to three runs or fewer in each of his last five starts. He's scheduled for a return matchup against the high-powered Blue Jays next week.

Manuel Margot - Goes deep SaturdayMargot went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
ImpactMargot accounted for Tampa Bay's only run of the game when he blasted his ninth homer of the year off Ross Stripling in the fourth inning. The 26-year-old Margot has enjoyed a productive power-speed stretch over his last 15 games, slashing .250/.333./479 with six homers and three stolen bases (three attempts) during that time. He owns just a .695 OPS in 280 plate appearances on the season, however.

Ross Stripling - Turns in another solid startStripling took a no-decision, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over 5.2 innings against the Rays on Saturday. He also struck out five.
ImpactStripling continued his terrific recent stretch, limiting the Rays to a Manuel Margot home run before departing one out shy of a quality start. The veteran hurler has completely turned his season around, rattling off a 2.35 ERA across his last eight starts while losing just once. Prior to his current run, Stripling was winless and owned an ugly 7.20 ERA and 1.76 WHIP through his first six starts. Those marks now sit at 4.06 and 1.21, respectively, heading into next week's scheduled start against Tampa Bay.

Rays keep it close, then lose again to Blue JaysWell, if you’re looking for something positive, the Rays kept the other team under 10 runs Saturday and lost by less than nine, so that was...
