Erasmo Ramírez - Outrighted by RaysRamirez cleared waivers and was outrighted to the Florida Complex League on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ImpactRamirez is no longer on the Rays' 40-man roster and will not be part of their Wild Card Series roster against the Rangers, but he will work out with other at the team's spring training complex in Florida in case he's needed. The veteran reliever posted a 6.41 ERA over 38 appearances for the Nationals and Rays in 2023.

Kevin Gausman - Officially tapped for Game 1Gausman will start Game 1 of the American League Wild Card Series for the Blue Jays on Tuesday versus the Twins, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com.
ImpactOnce the Blue Jays clinched a playoff spot and were able to scratch Gausman from his scheduled start in their regular season finale, it was obvious they were doing it in order to set him up for Game 1 of the Wild Card Series. Gausman finished the regular season on a high note, tossing a combined 13 shutout frames in his last two starts. He'll be opposed by Pablo Lopez on Tuesday.

Luke Raley - Takes batting practiceRaley (neck) took batting practice Monday at Tropicana Field, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ImpactRaley has been on the shelf for the last couple weeks with a cervical strain but is trying to convince the Rays he's feeling well enough to be carried on their Wild Card Series roster. The 29-year-old hit .247/.337/.497 with 17 home runs in 363 plate appearances against right-handed pitching in 2023 and, if healthy, would figure to see regular action versus righties in the postseason.
