Wild in relief Wednesday Scott (7-5) was credited with the win against Pittsburgh on Wednesday despite allowing two runs (one earned) on no hits and three walks in one-third of an inning. Impact Scott entered with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning and got Oneil Cruz to ground out to preserve a 6-6 tie and send the game to an extra frame. After San Diego took a three-run lead in the top of the 10th, Scott returned but couldn't find the plate, walking three straight batters to force home a run. Adrian Morejon then took over and allowed an inherited runner to score on a wild pitch before finding a way out of the jam, notching his first save and handing Scott the victory. Despite the win, the outing was an uncharacteristically poor one for Scott, who threw only six of 18 pitches for strikes. He's given up three runs (two earned) over three appearances consisting of 2.2 frames since joining San Diego at the trade deadline but still has an impressive 1.49 overall ERA on the campaign.
