Impact Two solo shots by Paul Goldschmidt were essentially the only blemishes on Skubal's outing, and considering the high strikeout total, his pitch count of 85 was pretty impressive. The lefty has now allowed two runs or fewer in four consecutive starts en route to a 1.59 ERA in the month of August. Skubal's second big-league season has been a solid one, as indicated by his 4.01 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 144:42 K:BB in 128 innings. He's expected to make his next start Tuesday against the Athletics.
