Framber Valdez - Plays catch MondayValdez (elbow) played some light catch Monday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
ImpactHe had been slated to play catch Tuesday, but evidently the decision was made to move it up a day. Valdez is on the injured list with left elbow inflammation but is hopeful that he can return when first eligible on April 23. It's possible, although he certainly has more work to do first before he can reach that goal.

Alex Bregman - Returns to Houston lineupBregman (illness) will start at third base and bat cleanup in Monday's contest versus Atlanta.
ImpactBregman missed three games due to illness but is feeling up to participating in Monday's festivities. It's been a slow start to the season for the veteran third baseman, as he'll carry a .241/.305/.333 batting line with no home runs into play Monday.

Michael Lorenzen - Activated for Rangers debutLorenzen (neck) was activated from the 15-day injured list by the Rangers on Monday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.
ImpactLorenzen is set to make his Rangers and season debut with a start Monday in Detroit. While technically on the IL with a neck injury, Lorenzen making three rehab starts had as much or more to do with knocking the rust off after he didn't sign until late March. He held a 6.35 ERA and 13:9 K:BB over 11.1 innings in those rehab outings and doesn't make for a very desirable fantasy start Monday.

Evan Carter - Homers in lossCarter went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Astros.
ImpactCarter's season-opening 0-for-15 stretch is in the rearview mirror. Sunday's homer, his second of the season, extended a hit streak to five games, and he's posted an average of .353 (1.098 OPS) in the nine games since.
