ImpactWalsh was able to incorporate more on-the-field workouts at Angel Stadium pregame Sunday. While there's no definitive date when he will face live pitching, it sounds like it should be in the coming days. Walsh is working his way back from recurring headaches which landed him on the injured list just before the season. It's possible he'll return before the end of the month, although there's not a clear timetable yet.

ImpactThis was Thaiss's second three-hit effort in his last three games. The catcher's productive hitting of late has raised his batting average from .207 at the end of April to .300 after Sunday's contest. He's added a home run, six RBI, nine runs scored and two doubles through 46 plate appearances this season. Thaiss and Chad Wallach are seeing a roughly even split of playing time behind the dish over the last week.

ImpactRenfroe got the Angels within two runs in the third inning with the sac fly, but his solo shot in the ninth did little to make the lopsided loss look better.
