Deivi García - Goes on injured listTriple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre placed Garcia (undisclosed) on its 7-day injured list Wednesday, Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune reports.
ImpactNo details are available regarding the nature of Garcia's injury, but he'll most likely be sidelined for the rest of the Triple-A club's season, which ends Sept. 30. After a promising six-start sample with the Yankees in 2020, Garcia was expected to vie for a rotation spot with the big club this season, but he ended up losing out to Domingo German in a spring training competition for the fifth starter's role. The 22-year-old righty then failed to perform well enough to merit an extended look in the big leagues, as he compiled a 6.83 ERA and 1.89 WHIP across 89.2 innings with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
