David McKay - Sent down MondayMcKay was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.
ImpactMcKay was recalled Friday and made a relief appearance Sunday against the Rangers. He allowed a run on four hits and no walks while striking out two in 2.2 innings but will head back to the minors after Sam Selman was called up Monday.

Sam Selman - Recalled by OaklandSelman was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.
ImpactSelman was sent to Las Vegas on July 9, but he'll rejoin the major-league roster to provide an additional arm in the bullpen after David McKay was sent down Monday. Selman has made nine major-league appearances this year, posting a 4.91 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 11 innings.

Seth Brown - Placed on paternity listBrown was placed on the paternity list Monday.
ImpactBrown wasn't in the lineup Sunday against the Rangers and will spend up to three days away from the team following the birth of his child. Dermis Garcia and Sheldon Neuse are candidates for increased playing time while Brown is sidelined.

Jonah Bride - Reinstated from injured listBride (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday.
ImpactBride spent nearly a month on the injured list due to his shoulder injury, but he'll rejoin the active roster after spending a week and a half in the minors on a rehab assignment. He hit .318 with a homer, a double, four runs and three RBI over seven rehab games and should see plenty of playing time at third base now that he's back to full health. However, he isn't starting Monday against the Astros.

Dustin Harris - Showing power, speed in Double-AHarris has a .259/.349/.475 batting line with 15 homers, 17 steals and a 39:69 BB:K through 76 games for Double-A Frisco.
ImpactA high-average hitter at his prior minor-league stops, Harris has been held back by a .286 BABIP this year, which is quite modest by his standards -- it's never been below .329 at any previous level. Though his strikeout rate is up a bit this year, it's still more than palatable at 20.1 percent, and he's been particularly impressive in that regard recently -- Harris has just seven strikeouts (and 11 walks) in his last 81 plate appearances. With the Rangers in full-blown rebuilding mode, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 22-year-old get a crack at the majors at some point this year, but he's not currently on the 40-man, so the club may be content to let him ride out this season in the minors with an eye on contending for a role next year. The question will be where he fits in, as Harris has mostly played left field this season but could also profile at first base.

Jonah Bride - Plenty of rehab work during weekendBride (shoulder) went 3-for-12 with two walks and two runs in three games for Single-A Stockton against Fresno over the weekend.
ImpactBride has now appeared in seven rehab games overall and played a full nine innings at third base in two of the three weekend contests with the Ports, seemingly indicating he'd be ready for activation. Given he's been eligible to come off the IL since earlier in July, it's certainly possible Bride is reinstated to the active roster ahead of Monday night's series opener against the Astros.

Tony Kemp - Homers as in-game replacementKemp entered Sunday's loss to the Rangers as a defensive replacement in the seventh inning and went 1-for-2 with a solo home run.
ImpactKemp was originally slated for a day off with southpaw Martin Perez on the hill for the Rangers, but the veteran made good use of his impromptu opportunity by blasting his third homer of the season in the ninth inning. The round tripper was a rare taste of offensive success for Kemp in July, and even factoring in Sunday's production, he still owns an abysmal .128/.196/.234 slash line across 51 plate appearances during the month.
