Struggles in debut with new team Milone gave up seven runs on eight hits and struck out two over 2.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Phillies on Sunday.

Impact Milone, who was traded from the Orioles to the Braves earlier Sunday, struggled in his debut with his new team. Didi Gregorius and Rhys Hoskins clubbed homers off the southpaw before he was relieved by Luke Jackson. Milone now has a 5.68 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 33 strikeouts in 31.2 innings across seven starts. Perhaps without a whirlwind of events, Milone will perform better in his next start, currently expected to be during next weekend's series versus the Nationals.

Impact Due to injuries and ineffectiveness from many of its other starting candidates, Atlanta only has one member of its Opening Day rotation (Max Fried) left standing. The addition of Milone thus provides the Braves with some important rotation depth, as the lefty has been a capable innings eater for the Orioles this season. Over his six starts, Milone has posted a 3.99 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 31:4 K:BB in 29.1 innings. He was initially lined up to start Monday for the Orioles, but Milone will presumably head to Boston to join the Braves for the conclusion of the team's road trip this week. Since he'll have to clear all COVID-19-related intake protocols before joining the Braves for workouts, Milone may not be ready to make his team debut for a few days.

Impact While two Pat Valaika errors did him no favors, Milone also served up back-to-back homers to Hunter Renfroe and Manuel Margot in the second inning, digging a hole the O's offense couldn't climb out of. The veteran lefty has lost three straight starts, and while his 15:1 K:BB in 15.1 innings over that stretch looks good, the four homers he coughed up indicate the results were not simply the product of bad luck. Milone will take a slowly eroding 3.99 ERA and 1.26 WHIP into his next outing Sunday, on the road against the Blue Jays in Buffalo.
