Mitch White - DFA'd by Toronto White was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Impact The 28-year-old has a 7.11 ERA over 10 outings for Toronto this season, and he lost his spot on the 26-man and 40-man rosters in order to clear space for trade acquisition Jordan Hicks. White had a 3.66 ERA across 46.2 innings for the Dodgers in 2021 but has been unable to replicate that form over the past two seasons.

José Berríos - Strong again in no-decision Berrios did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing a run on six hits and two walks over six innings against the Angels. He struck out six.

Impact Berrios has now allowed two runs or fewer in five starts since the start of July -- he's worked to a 1.84 ERA in that span. Overall, the 29-year-old right-hander is 8-7 with a 3.31 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 123:40 K:BB across 22 starts (130.1 innings) this season. Berrios will look to keep rolling in his outing, currently lined up for next week in Boston.

Jordan Hicks - Shipped to Toronto The Cardinals agreed to trade Hicks to the Blue Jays on Sunday, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact The trade return remains unclear, but Toronto wasted little time bolstering the back end of its bullpen after closer Jordan Romano (back) landed on the injured list Saturday. Hicks had a rough start to the season with 11 earned runs allowed in his first 14 outings, but he has a 1.88 ERA over 28.2 innings since May 8 and has been effective as St. Louis' closer over the past six weeks. The flame-throwing righty should be the favorite for save opportunities in Toronto while Romano is sidelined, though Erik Swanson and Yimi Garcia could also be in the mix.

Impact Though he drew the start in center field against Angels lefty Reid Detmers in Saturday's 6-1 win and went 1-for-4 with a run scored, the lefty-hitting Kiermaier will bow out of the starting nine Sunday while Los Angeles brings another southpaw (Tyler Anderson) to the hill. Daulton Varsho replaces Kiermaier in center field and as the Blue Jays' No. 9 batter.

Impact The Angels are bringing another lefty (Tyler Anderson) to the hill for the series finale, so the lefty-hitting Belt will remain on the bench for the second day in a row. With Belt on the bench, Alejandro Kirk will serve as Toronto's designated hitter.

Alejandro Kirk - Mashes two homers Kirk went 3-for-4 with two homers, three RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's win over the Angels.

Impact Kirk led off the bottom of the fifth with a single before coming around to score the first run of the contest on a Santiago Espinal home run in the very next at-bat. The catcher would then tack onto Toronto's lead with a leadoff home run in the seventh, followed by a two-run shot in the eighth. It marked Kirk's first multi-homer game of the season and he's now batting .292 in July with three long balls and seven RBI.

Alek Manoah - Allows one run in no-decision Manoah did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings against the Angels. He struck out six.

Impact Manoah hit Shohei Ohtani with a pitch in the opening frame but managed to strike out the other three batters he faced to get out of the inning unscathed. The right-hander would then hurl three more scoreless innings before also beaning Taylor Ward with the bases loaded to drive home the first run for either team on the afternoon. Manoah would not make it out of the fifth inning but with Saturday's performance he's now allowed one or fewer runs in two of his last four starts. However, he's also posted a 12:12 K:BB over his last three outings.
