Trevor Richards - Strikes out seven in three innings Richards took a no-decision after working three scoreless innings as a starter in Saturday's 9-4 loss to the Twins. He struck out seven while allowing one hit and one walk.
Impact Richards filled the rotation spot that had previously belonged to the since-optioned Alek Manoah, but because he had worked out of the bullpen in each of his previous 21 outings this season, Richards' workload was monitored carefully. He still managed to impress in the abbreviated outing, recording his nine outs on 53 pitches, including 16 which induced swings and misses. Richards will likely have a longer leash if the Blue Jays decide to have him make another start, though he could still struggle to work deep enough into the contest to qualify for a win

Impact Belt sat out Sunday against the Twins after exiting Saturday's loss with left hamstring tightness, but the issue doesn't appear to be a significant concern. Manager John Schneider said after Sunday's matchup that Belt remains day-to-day for now. He'll have at least one day to rest before Tuesday's series opener in Baltimore.

Impact Romano allowed the go-ahead run to reach base by walking Donovan Solano to start the ninth, but he retired the next three batters, including a strikeout of Trevor Larnach to end the game. The right-hander has allowed just one earned run over his past seven appearances, which all ended in a save, and has eight strikeouts during that stretch. He's currently second in MLB with 18 saves behind Emmanuel Clase (20).

Kevin Gausman - Struggles versus Minnesota Gausman did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing six runs on seven hits and four walks over 4.2 innings against the Twins. He struck out four.
Impact Gausman failed to get through the fifth inning for the first time since May 4 and third time this season. Coming into Sunday, the right-hander had given up just six earned runs over his past six starts (40 innings) and tallied 55 strikeouts during that stretch. It's safe to chalk Gausman's poor performance up as an outlier, but it's worth noting that this is the third time he's allowed at least six runs this year. Despite the blowup outings, the 32-year-old still boasts a strong 3.12 ERA across 14 starts (86.2 innings) and has 117 strikeouts, which is the second-most in MLB behind Spencer Strider (121).
