Zach Thompson - Outrighted to Buffalo Thompson cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.
Impact After being DFA'd by the Blue Jays on Tuesday, Thompson will remain with their Triple-A affiliate but no longer holds a spot on the 40-man roster. The 29-year-old righty has a 6.89 ERA and 1.55 WHIP through 47 innings this season and would need to turn things around quickly to have a chance at playing in the big leagues in 2023.

Jordan Romano - Secures 16th save Romano picked up the save in Wednesday's 3-2 victory over the Astros, allowing one hit over a scoreless inning. He recorded one strikeout and didn't issue a walk.
Impact Romano entered with a 3-2 lead and allowed the tying run to reach base before retiring three straight batters, including a strikeout of Kyle Tucker to end the game. The right-hander has converted his last six save opportunities, posting seven strikeouts during that stretch, and is 16-for-19 on the season with a 2.88 ERA and 1.16 WHIP.

Chris Bassitt - Eight strong innings in win Bassitt (7-4) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits over eight innings against the Astros. He struck out five and didn't issue a walk.
Impact Bassitt completed a season-high eight innings and didn't issue a walk for a second straight game, posting 14 strikeouts during the stretch. Aside from two horrible outings, the right-hander has been sharp during his first season with the Blue Jays, recording a 1.69 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 65:24 K:BB across his other 11 starts (74.2 innings). Even when you include his bad nights, his overall 3.29 ERA and 1.01 WHIP are still very respectable. Bassitt will look to stay sharp during his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for the opener of a three-game set in Baltimore.
