Santiago Espinal - Takes live batting practice Espinal (hamstring) took live batting practice Friday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Impact Espinal is working out at the Blue Jays' player development complex in Florida as he recovers from the right hamstring strain he suffered May 20 against the Orioles. He still has a lot of hurdles to clear, including agility drills and running, but the 28-year-old could feasibly be ready to return to Toronto's active roster in the early part of June.

Mitch White - To resume rehab assignment White (shoulder) will begin a new rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Buffalo, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Impact White was pulled off a previous rehab stint last week due to shoulder fatigue, but it proved to be a minor blip in his recovery from the right elbow injury that has kept him out all year. He'll be stretched out as a starter on the farm, beginning with something close to a 50-pitch outing Saturday for Buffalo.

Danny Jansen - Lands on injured list The Blue Jays placed Jansen on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left groin strain.
Impact Jansen suffered a groin injury while running to first base Wednesday against Tampa Bay, and he will now officially be forced to sit out until early June. Alejandro Kirk will likely fill in as Toronto's primary catcher while Jansen is on the IL, and Tyler Heineman -- who was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday -- figures to be Kirk's backup.

Impact Kirk was the lone Blue Jay to record more than one hit in the contest. After a slow start to the season, the 24-year-old backstop has started to heat up, going 9-for-25 in his last seven games.
