DL Hall - Won't be ready to start by openerManager Brandon Hyde said Thursday that Hall (back) won't be able to get built up enough to start by Opening Day, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com.
ImpactHall reported to camp with discomfort on the right side of his lower back and isn't expected to be ready for games until the third week of March, so it's not a surprise that he won't be stretched out enough to start. The plan had been for him to compete for a spot in the Orioles' rotation, although, realistically, he was probably either going to start in the Triple-A Norfolk rotation or big-league bullpen. The club has not yet decided how they will handle Hall's role to begin the campaign, but he's pain-free now and is expected to face hitters soon.

Tyler Wells - Set for Grapefruit debut SaturdayWells (shoulder) will make his Grapefruit League debut Saturday against the Braves, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
ImpactThe Orioles have been slow-playing Wells in camp after he ended last season with right shoulder inflammation. He's been feeling fine, though, and is ready to test things out in game action. The right-hander is competing for a spot in the Orioles' rotation, so he's surely eager to get going.

Brandon Belt - A week away from game actionManager John Schneider said Thursday that Belt (knee) is about a week away from making his Grapefruit League debut, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
ImpactBelt is considered fully recovered from last September's knee surgery but is still being eased into things this spring. The Blue Jays don't believe he needs many Grapefruit League at-bats to prepare for the season, so he remains on track for Opening Day.
