Could return this weekChatwood (triceps) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list shortly after being eligible Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ImpactThe 31-year-old landed on the injured list April 9 with soreness in his right triceps, but he may not end up missing much more than the 10-day minimum. Chatwood delivered 2.2 scoreless innings over three appearances before landing on the shelf.

Likely back after 10-day minimumRomano (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list when eligible Saturday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ImpactThe 27-year-old landed on the injured list April 15 with right ulnar neuritis, but he's throwing a side session Sunday since it's apparently a minor issue. Romano should be back next weekend if he avoids any setbacks throughout the week. The right-hander could step in as Toronto's closer since Julian Merryweather (oblique) is likely facing a longer absence.

Throwing live BP on TuesdayPitching coach Pete Walker said Pearson (groin) "feels really good" and is scheduled to throw live batting practice Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ImpactThe 24-year-old has been throwing at 100 percent intensity since the start of last week, and he has another live batting practice session on tap Tuesday. Pearson began the season on the injured list after aggravating a groin injury in mid-March, but he appears to be closing in on his season debut.

Not starting SundayJansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Kansas City.

Sitting again SundayBiggio (hand) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Royals.
ImpactThe 26-year-old appeared as a pinch runner during Saturday's doubleheader, but he hasn't played the field or had a plate appearance since Thursday while nursing a bruised right hand. Biggio will have an extra two days to recover with Monday's scheduled off day, so it's not a major surprise to see him on the bench Sunday. Joe Panik will receive the start at third base in the series finale.
