ImpactRyan started Wednesday's game against the Cubs and tentatively lines up to make his next start Tuesday against Detroit, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be back with the team in time. Manager Rocco Baldelli is optimistic that the right-hander will rejoin the team as early as Sunday, but he acknowledged that the Twins could have to shift their rotation plans if Ryan remains away from the team.

ImpactThe outfielder isn't in Friday's lineup against Minnesota after he received two stitches on his right middle finger Thursday, but manager Charlie Montoyo is optimistic Gurriel will be able to avoid a trip to the injured list. The 27-year-old is expected to be able to hit before he can comfortably play defense, so he has a chance to return as the designated hitter soon.
