David Peterson - Set for foot surgeryPeterson will undergo surgery to repair his broken right pinky toe, which could potentially end his season, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
ImpactPeterson was working his way back from an oblique strain when he fractured his toe. The Mets haven't officially shut him down for the season, but the foot surgery typically requires six to eight weeks to recover from. That takes him to at least the start of September, at which point he'll still have to go through a throwing program. If he returns at all, he may do so as a reliever, given that he might not have time to build back up to a starter's workload.

Stephen Nogosek - Headed to injured listNogosek was placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation Saturday, retroactive to July 21.
ImpactNogosek made his season debut Tuesday and allowed two runs on three hits and no walks while striking out five in three innings to take the loss against the Reds. However, the righty apparently developed an injury that will force him to miss additional time. Infielder Brandon Drury was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.
