Impact Making his second start of the season, Tourssaint reached career highs in both innings pitched (6.2) and strikeouts (nine). The 24-year-old gave up a solo home run to Bo Bichette in the fourth frame and did not issue any walks. Despite a shaky first appearance in relief this season during which he was roughed up for six runs over 2.2 innings, Toussaint has been solid in both starts so far. Next up, he'll head to New York for a tough matchup against the Yankees.

Impact Touki Toussaint got the start but only lasted four innings, allowing Tomlin to get credit for the win with a dominant performance out of the bullpen. The veteran right-hander has yet to give up a run this season over three appearances and 5.2 innings, posting an 8:0 K:BB, and with Atlanta now featuring an incredibly young and inexperienced rotation to go with an explosive offense, Tomlin could end up as one of the most valuable long men in baseball from a fantasy perspective.

Blanks Mets in short outing Toussaint didn't factor into the decision during Saturday's 7-1 win over the Mets, allowing three hits and three walks over four scoreless innings. He struck out five.
Impact Making his first start of the season, Toussaint's control came and went -- he threw 45 of 74 pitches for strikes -- and he wasn't efficient enough to last the five innings necessary to qualify for a win, but he otherwise gave Atlanta everything it could have hoped for. There are other candidates for a rotation spot in the organization if he falters, but Toussaint pitched well enough to hold onto the job for now. He'll next take the mound Thursday in a home start against the Blue Jays.

Whether Toussaint remains in the rotation for good or simply gets the first crack at the job is not yet clear. The 24-year-old was considered a fairly interesting prospect, combining promising stuff with shaky control, but he's yet to put things together through 73.1 big-league innings, the majority of which have come out of the bullpen. His 24.7 percent strikeout rate has thus far been more than cancelled out by his 14.3 walk rate, leading to a 5.52 ERA.
