Resumes defensive work Amburgey (hamstring) was spotted taking part in defensive work Thursday, Max Goodman of SI.com reports. Impact After being called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre coming out of the All-Star break while the Yankees were without multiple key outfielders, Amburgey appeared in only two games before going down with an injury of his own. His ability to take part in defensive drills seemingly represents a step forward in the recovery process for the 26-year-old, but he's still likely a week or more away from returning from the 10-day injured list. Since Amburgey was shut down, the Yankees have gotten Aaron Judge back from the COVID-19 IL and acquired Joey Gallo from the Rangers, so the team likely won't have a big need for the rookie in the outfield once he's back to full health.
