Heading to open market The Mets released Adcock on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Impact Adcock will have the ability to choose his next destination with the Mets cutting ties with him after he went unclaimed off waivers upon being designated for assignment Tuesday. The Mets claimed Adcock off waivers in late May, and the right-handed reliever gave up seven runs over 4.1 innings across three appearances for the big club during his brief time in the majors. He'll presumably have to settle for a minor-league deal in free agency.

Impact The Mets optioned Adcock to Triple-A on July 6 after he allowed seven earned runs in just 4.1 frames with the big-league squad. He has since given up three runs (two earned) in 5.1 innings in the minors, but he will now lose his spot on the 40-man roster to clear space for Tyler Zuber, who was acquired from Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

Impact Adcock was DFA'd by the Tigers on Saturday, but he will reclaim a spot on a 40-man roster as he moves to New York. The 27-year-old righty has allowed eight earned runs across 8.1 innings between the Mariners' and Tigers' Triple-A affiliates, and a significant turnaround would likely be necessary before Adcock receives a call up to the majors.

Scooped up by Detroit The Tigers claimed Adcock off waivers from the Mariners on Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Toledo.

Impact Adcock had been designated for assignment and is now on the move to a new organization. The 26-year-old made 12 appearances for Seattle last season but has spent all of this season at Triple-A Tacoma, yielding two earned runs with a 2:3 K:BB over 2.1 innings.

Impact With Penn Murfee (elbow) headed back to the injured list, the Mariners will call on Adcock to fill Murfee's spot in the bullpen. The 26-year-old righty has been impressive in Double-A, logging a 2.08 ERA and 0.62 WHIP across 12 appearances. However, his lack of experience beyond Double-A makes him a very risky fantasy option. Robbie Ray (elbow) was moved to the 60-day injured list to make room for Adcock on the 40-man roster.
