Fires no-hitter in first MLB start Gilbert (1-1) fired a complete game no-hitter on three walks while striking out five, earning the win over the Padres on Saturday. Impact Gilbert made his first career start in his fourth appearance this season. He was the first player to throw a no-hitter in his first MLB start since Bobo Holloman in 1953 for the St. Louis Browns, per AP News. He allowed just three walks, which happened to all be against Tommy Pham. The 27-year-old has yet to allow an earned run and has just two hits against him in 12.2 innings this season. His fantastic performance bodes well for his chance to earn another start.
