Wins roster spot Wells will break camp in the Orioles' bullpen, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Impact As a Rule 5 pick, Wells has to be kept on the roster all season or offered back to the Twins. He appears to have won his roster spot by merit, however, as he struck out 12 batters and walking just three in nine innings this spring, allowing one run on six hits.

Snagged by O's The Orioles selected Wells with the 17th pick of the Rule 5 draft.

Impact Wells underwent Tommy John surgery in May of 2019, so he should be fully healthy at this point. The 26-year-old righty logged a 1.65 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 39 strikeouts in 32.2 innings at Double-A back in 2018. Baltimore will likely deploy the former Twin as a low-leverage reliever.
