Scratched with hamstring injury Franco was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins due to right hamstring tightness, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Impact As a result of Franco's late removal from the lineup, designated hitter Manuel Margot will now bat second for the Rays, while Taylor Walls shifts over from third base to cover Franco's usual position at shortstop. The Rays haven't provided word on the extent of Franco's injury, so he can be viewed as day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener in Oakland until manager Kevin Cash elaborates further on the matter.

Impact After being retired in his first three at-bats, Franco walked and stole second in the eighth but was unable to come around to score. It was his second stolen base of the season and just the third time he's reached on a free pass. The phenom has been praised for his plate discipline and walked more than he struck out in his brief minor-league career. He's played only 88 games at the major-league level and it may take a little while for the 21-year-old's on-base skills to reach their full potential.

Impact Franco homered off Matt Koch in the seventh inning. The homer ended an 0-for-12 mini-slump that saw his batting average drop below .350 for the first time all season. There's little to worry about, as the 21-year-old has homered four times in the last six games and has 12 extra-base hits in 16 appearances. Despite striking out twice Tuesday, the shortstop has only fanned seven times in 71 plate appearances this year.

Impact Franco homered off Michael Wacha in the first and fifth innings, accounting for all of Tampa Bay's runs off the starter. He came to the plate with the Rays down 4-3 with two outs in the ninth and nearly walked it off but Trevor Story made a nice play on a sharply hit ground ball to end the game. The 21-year-old is off to an incredible start with 11 extra-base hits in 13 games and a 1.111 OPS. He's recorded multiple hits in eight games this season.
