However, he'll land on the injured list after an MRI revealed a strain. A better idea of Lee's return timetable should come into focus once he's cleared to resume throwing. Right-hander Andres Machado was recalled to take Lee's place in the bullpen.

Andres Machado - Sent down Friday Machado was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Friday.

Impact Machado was called up by the Nationals in early June and posted a 5.59 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 9.2 innings over five relief appearances during his stint with the major-league club. The right-hander will head back to the minors after right-hander Cory Abbott was recalled Friday.
