Francisco Perez - Demoted by Washington Perez was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.

Impact Perez was recalled by the Nationals on April 20, and he posted a 2.08 ERA in 4.1 innings over five relief appearances while pitching in low-leverage situations. He tossed five scoreless innings in Rochester to begin the year.

Sam Clay - Optioned to Triple-A Clay was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.

Impact Clay made five relief appearances after being recalled April 20, and he logged an 11.25 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in four innings. The southpaw will head back to the minors since the Nationals need to trim their active roster to 26 players by Monday but should be in the mix to provide bullpen depth later in the year.

The only thing keeping Adon in the rotation right now might be the Nationals' lack of viable alternatives.
