Trea Turner - Homers in series finale Turner went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Marlins.

Impact Turner went hitless in his first two at-bats Sunday, but he blasted a go-ahead home run to right field in the sixth inning. The 27-year-old has now crossed the plate in each of his last nine games, and he's hit .353 with two home runs, two doubles, 10 runs, four RBI and three stolen bases during that time.

Max Scherzer - Picks up seventh win Scherzer (7-4) allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out seven in six innings to earn the win against the Marlins on Sunday.

Impact Scherzer made his second start since returning from the injured list, and he's struck out 15 in 11 innings during those two outings. The right-hander gave up a leadoff triple followed by a one-out double in the bottom of the first inning Sunday, but the Nationals put four runs on the board in the top of the sixth to put him in line for the win. Scherzer has earned wins in three of his last four appearances, and he's posted a 1.42 ERA and 0.95 WHIP in 19 innings during that time. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Dodgers on Friday.

Impact Machado will take the roster spot of Erick Fedde, who landed on the 10-day IL with an oblique strain Sunday. Machado served as the club's 27th man during the July 12 twin bill against San Francisco but did not pitch in either game before being sent back to Rochester. The right-hander has posted a 2.63 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 13.2 Triple-A innings this season.
