Josh Rojas - Delivers three hits in lossRojas went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Nationals.
ImpactRojas had gone eight games without a multi-hit effort, batting .154 (4-for-26) during that slump. All three of his hits Sunday were singles, including one that generated a run in the fourth inning. The 28-year-old is slashing .275/.347/.406 with five home runs, 27 RBI, 36 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 262 plate appearances, and it appears he's retained a starting role at third base even with his recent downturn at the plate.

Daulton Varsho - Reaches base three times in lossVarsho went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks, a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Nationals.
ImpactVarsho provided an RBI single in the first inning, then walked, stole second, and scored in the fourth. In three games since the All-Star break, the 26-year-old has gone 4-for-11 with a home run and five runs scored. He's up to a .237/.305/.417 slash line with 13 homers, six steals, 47 RBI, 44 runs scored, 15 doubles and a triple through 348 plate appearances this year.

Corbin Martin - Wild in first startMartin allowed a run on four hits and five walks with one strikeout in four innings, taking a no-decision in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.
ImpactMartin made his first big-league start of the season, but he had trouble finding the strike zone. He threw only 36 of 71 pitches for strikes, though he was able to effectively limit the damage with some help from his defense -- the Diamondbacks turned a double play and picked off Victor Robles on a stolen base attempt. Martin has a 3.93 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 15:11 K:BB through 18.1 innings in six outings (one start) with Arizona this year. It's not clear if he'll stick in the rotation going forward, but he lines up for a road start in Atlanta next weekend if he gets another start. Martin likely has a path to remain a starter at least until Zach Davies (shoulder) can return, which isn't expected to be until August at the earliest.

Keibert Ruiz - Perfect at plateRuiz went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
ImpactRuiz had just one hit in his previous five games, but he was at the center of the Nationals' offense Sunday. He was directly involved in three of their four run-scoring plays, including a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning that stood as the game-winning hit. The catcher has batted .241 (14-for-58) in July, and that's not far off from his .252/.313/.350 slash line for the season. He's added three home runs, 22 RBI, 23 runs scored and four stolen bases in 301 plate appearances, and he should continue to see a majority of the starts behind the dish over backup Tres Barrera.
