Daniel Bard - Shuts door againBard allowed one hit across a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Thursday against the Nationals. He didn't have a strikeout or a walk.
ImpactBard worked around a one-out single to earn his eighth save of the season. He has turned in six consecutive scoreless outings, during which he's allowed only two hits and no walks while striking out eight. Despite losing the closer job in 2021, Bard has been excellent to begin the new campaign and now has a 1.80 ERA with a 13:0 K:BB across 10 frames.

Antonio Senzatela - Allows seven hitsSenzatela allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out one across 4.1 innings Thursday against the Nationals. He did not factor into the decision.
ImpactSenzatela allowed a home run to Juan Soto in the first inning, but he scattered six additional hits and avoided further significant damage. Senzatela exited the game in the fifth frame with runners on first and third but was bailed out by Jhoulys Chacin who induced a double play from the first batter he faced. As is usually the case, Senzatela was reliant upon generating soft contact as he recorded only one strikeout and five swinging strikes on 86 total pitches. For the season, he has seven strikeouts across 24 innings, yet he's still maintained a solid 3.75 ERA.

Aaron Sanchez - Surrenders seven runsSanchez (1-2) allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four across 4.1 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Rockies.
ImpactSanchez was handed an early two-run lead, though he coughed that up quickly by giving up a three-run homer in the second inning. He also allowed three of the first four batters he faced to reach base in the fifth, all of which eventually came around to score. Sanchez has now allowed at least three earned runs in each of his three starts while failing to work more than five frames on any occasion. He owns an 8.56 ERA with a 9:3 K:BB across 13.2 innings on the season.
