Bryan De La Cruz - Gets third straight startDe La Cruz will start in center field and bat sixth in Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactDe La Cruz will be rewarded with his third consecutive start in the outfield, with the latter two coming at the expense of Jesus Sanchez, who remains on the bench for the second time in as many days. Manager Don Mattingly has notably handed the righty-hitting De La Cruz all three of his starts against right-handed pitching, and the 25-year-old has rewarded that faith by going 4-for-8 with three doubles and a run scored between his last two games. De La Cruz could continue to handle a quasi-regular role in the outfield while he's wielding a hot bat.

Brian Anderson - Garners fifth straight startAnderson will start in left field and bat fifth in Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactAfter making four straight starts at the hot corner and going a collective 3-for-14 with a home run, a double, two walks, four runs and two RBI over that span, Anderson will remain in the lineup for the fifth time in a row, this time filling in as an outfielder for the resting Jorge Soler. Anderson should have a clear path to steady playing time at the hot corner for the duration of Joey Wendle's (hamstring) stint on the 10-day injured list before likely transitioning back into a utility role.

Erik González - Picks up third straight startGonzalez will start at third base and bat ninth in Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactGonzalez will stay in the lineup for the third game in a row after going 1-for-6 with two walks, two RBI and a run scored over the Marlins' previous two contests. The versatile infielder has started at three different positions in the past three days, but he'll likely lose hold of his utility role -- and likely, his spot on the 40-man roster -- once Jon Berti (illness) is cleared to return from the COVID-19-related injured list.

Jesús Sánchez - Remains on benchSanchez will sit for the second straight game Tuesday against the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ImpactSanchez isn't dealing with any reported injury, so it's possible his absence is performance-related. He's hitting just .207/.270/.345 on the year and a miserable .095/.174/.111 over his last 19 contests. Bryan De La Cruz will make a second straight start in center field in his absence.

Jorge Soler - Receives maintenance daySoler is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactBrian Anderson will pick up the start in the outfield in place of Soler, who is sitting for only the third time through the Marlins' first 36 games of the season. Unless he's used off the bench Tuesday as a pinch-hitter, Soler should check back into the lineup for the series finale Wednesday, when he'll put a seven-game hitting streak on the line.

Dee Strange-Gordon - Sitting TuesdayStrange-Gordon will be on the bench for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.
ImpactStrange-Gordon seems to be moving ahead of Alcides Escobar on the shortstop depth chart, as he started five of the last seven games there prior to Tuesday's contest. Escobar will get the nod this time, however, and the pair could continue to split time fairly evenly going forward.
