Juan Soto - Likely to play outfield next weekManager Dave Martinez said that Soto is expected to resume full-time duties in right field when Washington resumes National League play Tuesday against the Phillies, Mark Zuckerman...
ImpactThough he was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Soto was limited to a pinch-hitting role during his first three games back while his strained shoulder wasn't quite 100 percent. He was able to re-enter the lineup Friday at Yankee Stadium as the Nationals' designated hitter before making his first start in right field since returning from the IL on Saturday. Soto is back at DH for Sunday's series finale with the Yankees, but Martinez suggested that was the plan all along for the 22-year-old, who didn't experience any setbacks Sunday while manning the outfield.

Justin Wilson - Earns win in reliefWilson (1-0) earned the win over Washington on Saturday, pitching a perfect inning and striking out a pair.
ImpactThis was a well-deserved win for Wilson, who had to deal with the extra-innings leadoff runner at second base but managed to keep the Nationals off the scoreboard in the 11th frame. The left-hander had allowed a combined five earned runs over his previous three appearances, so Saturday's effort could go a long way toward righting the ship. Wilson has a 6.23 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 9:5 K:BB across 8.2 innings this season.

Kyle Higashioka - Idle SundayHigashioka is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
ImpactAfter wresting the No. 1 catching job away from Gary Sanchez in late April, Higashioka appears to have fallen back into a timeshare at the position upon falling into a 2-for-20 slump at the plate over his last six games. Higashioka and Sanchez have now alternated starts over the past five contests.

Gio Urshela - Won't start SundayUrshela (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
ImpactUrshela will be on the bench for a third straight game due to the knee injury he suffered in Thursday's game against the Astros, but the Yankees remain confident he'll avoid a trip to the injured list. In fact, manager Aaron Boone said that following Monday's off day, Urshela should be on track to rejoin the lineup for Tuesday's series opener in Tampa Bay, according to Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record. Miguel Andujar will man third base in Urshela's stead Sunday.
