Kevin Gausman - Beats Nats for ninth winGausman (9-3) won Sunday's 3-1 game against Washington, allowing one run on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in six innings.
ImpactGausman cruised through the game's first six innings but ran into trouble in the seventh when he loaded the bases with no outs and was lifted for reliever Dominic Leone. Only one inherited runner scored as Gausman and the Giants were able to escape the jam and sail to an eventual victory. The first-time All-Star won't play in Tuesday's game as a result of pitching Sunday and concludes the first half with a sensational 1.73 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 124:30 K:BB ratio.

Andres Machado - Back in big leaguesManager Davey Martinez announced that Machado has been recalled from Triple-A Rochester prior to Sunday's game against the Giants, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
ImpactMachado was sent down Wednesday, but per Martinez, he has stayed with the big club since the demotion. He'll be activated ahead of Sunday's series finale to take the roster spot of Kyle McGowin (biceps), who was placed on the 10-day injured list.

Kyle McGowin - Heads to injured listMcGowin was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with right biceps tendinitis, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
ImpactMcGowin exited his Saturday relief appearance after recording just two outs, and the club later vaguely labeled his departure as being due to "fatigue." It's now clear that the right-hander is dealing with the biceps issue, though the club hasn't specified how long he could be sidelined. McGowin will be eligible to come off the IL on July 21, and further update on the 29-year-old could be provided in coming days. Andres Machado was recalled from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding roster move.

Tyler Beede - Optioned to Triple-AThe Giants optioned Beede to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.
ImpactThe righty was likely unavailable Sunday after throwing a three-run inning Saturday, so he goes to Triple-A to make way for a fresh arm in Caleb Baragar. Beede enters the All-Star break having made just one big-league appearance this season, but he figures to play a role for the Giants following the break, be it in the bullpen or the starting rotation.

Caleb Baragar - Returns to GiantsThe Giants recalled Baragar from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.
ImpactThe lefty posted a 0.49 ERA in 18.1 innings with the Giants before being optioned June 13. Baragar's numbers at Triple-A have been much less impressive, though, as he has a 9.45 ERA in 6.2 innings at that level. Tyler Beede, who pitched Saturday and wouldn't have been available for the final game before the break, was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

LaMonte Wade Jr. - Returns to lineup SundayWade (hand) is back in the starting lineup Sunday against the Nationals, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
ImpactWade did not play in the last two games after he exited Wednesday's contest with a left hand strain. He appears to be feeling better Sunday, as he'll lead off as the first baseman against Erick Fedde.
