Slated for MRICastro (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
ImpactCastro was initially scheduled to return to third base for Wednesday's spring game against the Astros, but he'll be held out after his hamstring cramped Tuesday. Manager Dave Martinez didn't sound too concerned about the issue but said Castro will undergo additional imaging to make sure that he's not dealing with anything serious. As the spring has unfolded, the Nationals have become more open to the idea of Castro beginning the season as the team's primary option at the hot corner, but his injury could pave the way for the struggling Carter Kieboom to solidify his spot atop the depth chart at third base while also opening up second base for Luis Garcia.

Granted fourth option yearWilliams will have a fourth minor-league option for 2021, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
ImpactWilliams and the Cardinals initially weren't sure whether the 25-year-old would have a minor-league option for 2021. However, St. Louis will have more flexibility with Williams this year, as an arbitrator granted the outfielder an extra option after he spent most of the 2020 season at the Cardinals' alternate training site. Even with his additional option, Williams should compete for the starting job in right field to begin the season with Harrison Bader (forearm) out at least four weeks.

ImpactManager Mike Shildt revealed Wednesday that Bader is dealing with a "flare up" in his forearm that will keep him sidelined at least four weeks. Carlson is starting in center field during Wednesday's Grapefruit League game and should see most of his playing time at the position while Bader is unavailable. Shildt hasn't announced who will start in right field, but Justin Williams, Lane Thomas and Austin Dean are candidates to fill in while the Cardinals are shorthanded in the outfield.

ImpactBader had been appearing in Grapefruit League games over the past two weeks after dealing with a forearm issue earlier this spring. However, he'll receive a PRP injection Wednesday and will begin the regular season on the injured list as a result of his setback. In his absence, Dylan Carlson could shift to center field, while Lane Thomas and Justin Williams could see extra playing time for the Cardinals over the first few weeks of the regular season.
