Impact A day after being optioned to the minors, Ramirez is removed from the 40-man roster to clear a spot for Cole Hamels. The righty was impressive Sunday in his only big-league appearance of the season, so a return to the Dodgers this season is not out of the question.

Impact After tossing two scoreless innings in relief in Sunday's 13-0 win over Arizona in his Dodgers debut, Ramirez was rewarded with a demotion back to the minors. Since Ramirez wasn't likely to be available for two days after the relief outing, the Dodgers may just have wanted to swap him off the active roster for a fresh bullpen arm. Expect Los Angeles to announce a corresponding roster move prior to Tuesday's game against the Astros.
