Strikes out eight in win Plesac (2-4) allowed two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out eight in six innings to earn the win during Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Impact Plesac struck out a season-high eight batters during Sunday's matchup, and he now has three quality starts in his last four outings. In spite of his recent quality starts, the right-hander's win was his first since April 21. Plesac has also allowed at least five runs in four of his last seven appearances. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Athletics on Friday.

Impact The only run against Plesac was a third-inning Emmanuel Rivera solo home run. While he's yielded a home run in six straight starts, this was the first time Plesac has issued zero walks since his first game of the season, which was also against the Royals. Struggles against Astros Plesac (1-4) got the loss Tuesday after he pitched 4.2 innings, giving up seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five versus the Astros.

Impact Plesac struggled to keep the Astros off the bases in this one, surrendering a season-high nine hits while the seven earned runs were also the most he's allowed in 2022. After giving up three runs over the first four frames, the right-hander was tagged with four runs in the fifth, highlighted by a Kyle Tucker three-run homer. Plesac has allowed eight or more baserunners in seven straight starts. On the bright side, his five strikeouts were his best total of the year. The 27-year-old's season-long numbers now stand at a 5.40 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 28 punchouts over 43.1 frames in eight outings.

Impact The quality start was Plesac's second of the year. While the results were strong, Plesac was far from dominant, inducing only six swinging strikes on 95 pitches.
