Impact Early in Sunday's Echopark Texas Grand Prix Cindric made contact with the No. 10 car of Ty Dillon the long straight away. He would turn Dillon's car into a spin and towards the outside wall. NASCAR deemed the contact avoidable and come down with sanctions against he and the No. 2 Ford team this week. Cindric will be docked 50 driver points and fined $50,000 as a result of his actions at COTA.

Wins Daytona Duel 2 CIndric won Daytona Duel 2 for the Daytona 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway Thursday night.

Impact This race wouldn't feature the multiple accidents of the first Duel, but would evolve into a running battle between Ford and Toyota drivers. However, it would come down to a last-lap caution and photo finish between Cindric and Erik Jones. Jones would beat him to the finish line, but upon review Cindric was ruled ahead at the time caution came out. The win was the Penske Racing driver's first in the Daytona Duels after finishing runner-up for the last three seasons.

Impact The Penske Racing driver was able to post a lap of 182.463 mph in the final round of qualifying, but it was just short of pole position. That would go to Chase Briscoe in the No. 19 Toyota. Cindric would edge Ryan Preece to capture P2 and the outside pole for Sunday's Daytona 500. This is his first front-row start at Daytona in eight starts and best qualifying position at the historic Florida oval.

Impact Cindric will be filling in for injured driver, Ben Barker, who broke his collarbone over the holidays in a skiing accident. The NASCAR veteran will team with Mike Rockenfeller and Sebastian Priaulx in the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3 for the endurance racing classic. Cindric has five prior starts in the Rolex 24, but has yet to win a coveted Rolex watch. His extensive experience in road racing will be an asset to this team in accomplishing that goal.

Impact Cindric turned in one of the best short track performances of his career Sunday in the Xfinity 500. The Penske Racing driver came from 24th on the starting grid to patiently work his way forward. By stage 3 Cindric would be racing among the leaders in the closing laps. A late caution would help him to hold onto that track position gained and fend off Denny Hamlin for a career-best short track finish of fourth-place at Martinsville. It was just his fourth Top 5 of the season.
