Impact The driver of the No. 15 Ford started deep in the field and would survive the seven cautions, many of them multi-car crashes that would thin the field. Ware would lineup in good shape on the overtime restart and battle among the leaders. The veteran driver could not get to the lead, but Ware would hold off Ty Gibbs to secure his first-career Top-5 finish and best-career finish in his 103rd Cup Series start.

Making NASCAR return at Dega Ware (suspension) will drive the No. 15 Ford for Rick Ware Racing in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega, Austin Konenski of Motorsports Wire reports.
Impact Ware will make his first NASCAR start since being suspended on April 10, 2023 on charges of assault by strangulation and assault causing serious injury. Those charges were dropped in December and Ware was reinstated by NASCAR. Ware drove the No. 51 for RWR for a few seasons, but that ride has since been taken over by Justin Haley full-time. The No. 15 entry has been driven mostly by Kaz Grala this year. Ware has the only top-10 finish in RWR history which came back in 2022 when he finished sixth at Daytona. It's unclear how many more races Ware will compete in this year.

Prosecutors dismissed charges against him last Thursday and NASCAR has now reinstated his status for the upcoming season. Ware will look to put these unpleasant circumstances behind him and return to action in 2024.
